The Iota Zeta Zeta Chapter was chartered November 17, 1979 by Gladys Anderson, Mary Charles, Fannie Harrell, Effie McKerson, Bette Spencer, Anita Spencer, Linda Spencer, and Nancy Willliams. These dynamic women saw the need for a chapter in the community, and their hard work finally paid off.
Iota Zeta Zeta is the first and oldest chapter in Minnesota, and also created the first Stork’s Nest in the state. Since 1979, IZZ has grown with leaps and bounds and continues to transform communities and change the lives of the people we serve while upholding the Founding principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
- This chapter as a whole and it’s members individually participates in service year round.
- Members belong to several other organizations outside of the sorority.
- Partners with many organizations across the state to further the cause of helping others excel.
- Operates the Storks Nest in the state.
